Let's Be Clear Lotion

Intention: Face lotion for inflamed, and/or acne-prone skin

With the rise in acne-prone skin, Let's Be Clear Lotion is clear and focused with intention to help with your skin! This lotion feels a little lighter on the skin, and is packed with herbs that help to clear and calm inflamed conditions like acne, psoriasis, and eczema.

We used our Acne Go-Go astringent for the base, then added Calendula, Yarrow, and Rose infused Jojoba Oil.  Pair them together for maximum effects!  We also added a bit of non-nano Zinc Oxide for sun protection.  Zinc Oxide is also helpful with acne as it soothes skin while protecting it from the sun.

Ingredients:  Jojoba Oil, Witch Hazel, Apple Cider Vinegar, Yarrow, Calendula, Lavender, Rose, Willow Bark, Beeswax, Zinc Oxide (non-nano), Borax, GeoGard ECT (preservative), Xantham Gum, Alcohol, Essential Oils (Juniper Berry, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, Bergamot)

Why We Chose These Ingredients:

• Jojoba Oil - liquid wax that is similar to our skin sebum, softens and smooths dry skin, regulates oily skin
• Witch Hazel - astringent (tightens tissues), anti-inflammatory
• Apple Cider Vinegar - beneficial bacteria, astringent, preservative
• Lavender - relaxant, anodyne (releases pain)
• Yarrow - astringent, anti-microbial, vulnerary (promotes wound healing)
• Calendula -  anti-inflammatory, astringent, anti-microbial, antifungal;  speeds tissue healing, dry skin and eczema conditions; lymphatic
• Rose - antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, soothes irritated skin
• Willow Bark - astringent (tightens), high in tannins, helps reduce pore size and reduce oiliness
• Beeswax -   analgesic (pain reduction), antioxidant,  antibacterial, flavonoids (reduce inflammation), emollient; adds creamy texture, humectant (seals in moisture); healing to skin and helps to solidify salves and lotion
• Borax - a naturally occurring mineral that dissolves into water to make a basic solution (lowers pH, which helps to preserve). When used with wax, the salt will help emulsify (bind) oils and water. It also has mild antibacterial and antifungal properties. We use less than 5% in our formulas.
• Xantham Gum -  a polysaccharide (a sugar-based polymer) made from when sugars are fermented from Xanthomonas campestri bacteria.  It is very safe and helps to stabilize emulsions, thicken product and create a smooth texture. 
• Zinc Oxide - mineral that sits on top of your skin as a physical barrier for sun protection. We use non-nano sized zinc oxide to keep it on top of skin, instead of penetrating the skin (considered better and safer). Also soothes skin irritations.
• Alcohol - used for Alcohol Intermediary step, which helps to preserve herb-infused oil and makes it a stronger extraction. The alcohol is later evaporated out during heating phases.
• Geogard ECT - a natural preservative used in personal care products. This antimicrobial blend offers protection against Gram positive and negative bacteria, yeast and molds. It is comprised of (4) ingredients: Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Glycerin, and Sorbic Acid.
  
• Juniper Berry essential oil - warming, analgesic (pain), tones, detox, anti-rheumatic, astringent, uplifting
• Tea Tree Essential Oil - antiseptic, healing, immune-stimulant, acne fighting, deodorizing, antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal
• Bergamot Essential Oil -  anti-microbial, promotes skin cell renewal, helps to even and tone complexion pigments, acne fighter
• Eucalyptus Essential Oil - antiseptic, toning, analgesic, refreshing & clearing, warming

To Use:  Clean skin and hands thoroughly. For best results, next spot treat with an astringent like witch hazel or our Acne Go-Go. Apply a small amount to hands and gently apply to skin in an upwards and outwards motion.  

Tips for Clearer Skin: 1) Avoid touching your face throughout the day, and definitely no picking at your face!  2) Drink lots of clean water. 3) Eat fruits and vegetables, and avoid processed foods as much as possible.  4) Relax: remember that you are beautiful too!
