Thai Basil & French ClaySoap

Intention: Face & Body Soap

A gentle and moisturizing face and body soap that feels perfect for dry and/or sensitive skin. 

Bars are all over 3.5 oz 

Ingredients: Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Water, Tallow, Sunflower Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Thai Basil, French Green Clay, Alcohol, Spirulina, and Essential Oils (Basil, Spearmint)

Why We Chose These Ingredients:

• Olive Oil - anti-oxidants, oleic acids and polyphenols (antioxidant), moisturizing & creamy lather
• Coconut Oil - cleansing, high in vitamin C, high in lauric acid and antimicrobial
• Water - used in the soap making process with lye
• Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) - a caustic/alkaline reagent that, when mixed with fats and water,  will react (saponify) to create soap. Once cured, a properly made bar of soap will have no lye left in it when finished: it has been converted into soap.
• Tallow - traditional fat used in soap making that is rendered from healthy pasture-raised cows from rural WNY; high oleic, palmitic and stearic acids; is very similar to our skin sebum/fat
• Sunflower Oil - rich in fatty acids and vitamin E, conditioning
• Thai Basil - regarded as anti-inflammatory and antibacterial, basil is also hydrating for the skin and smells lovely too
• French Green Clay - detoxifying, oil-absorbing but not drying, and toning
• Alcohol - we use a spritz of alcohol for our herb-infused oils. Alcohol is evaporated during the heating and curing process
• Spirulina - natural color, vitamins & protein, anti-inflammatory, detoxing, improves elasticity 

Use: Use as a full body  and/or face soap; great for all skin types and/or sensitive skin. Please note that soaps high in Tallow do not produce many suds.
