Herbal Lotion

Intention: Face and body lotion for all skin types

With Autumn in full swing, we wanted a silky, hydrating lotion to soothe our skin as the winds picked up and the temperature drops.  Our Herbal Lotion has white pine and white (Concolor) fir infused oils, moisturizing tallow, herbal hydrosols, and some of our favorite essential oils. It is sure to please both women and men with it's silky feel, good absorption, and lasting effects!

Ingredients:  Olive Oil, Hydrosols (Lemon Balm, Witch Hazel, Lavandin), Tallow, Vegetable Emulsifying Wax, White Pine, White Fir, Borax, Xantham Gum, Vitamin E Oil, our Essential Oil Blend (Fir, Lavender, Frankincense, Lemongrass, Bay Leaf, Peppermint, Pine Needle)

Why We Chose These Ingredients:

• Olive Oil - anti-oxidants, oleic acids and polyphenols (antioxidant)
• Hydrosols - plant waters with astringent and healing properties
• Lemon Balm Hydrosol - calming, anti-depressive, anti-inflammatory
• Lavandin Hydrosol - a hybrid of spike and true lavenders, which has a stronger scent due to having higher camphor and cineole components. It is suitable for all skin types, helpful for delicate and mature skin, healing and soothing
• Witch Hazel Hyrosol -toning, tannins, flavonoids, and catechins, to act as anti-inflammatories, anti-oxidants, astringents
• Tallow - traditional fat that is rendered from healthy pasture-raised cows from rural WNY; high oleic, palmitic and stearic acids; is very similar to our skin sebum/fat
  
• Vegetable Emulsifying Wax - a plant-based fatty alcohol that helps to bind oils and water together.  Safe for cosmetic use, easily absorbed and adds a velvety texture.
• White Pine - soothing, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, healing, high in Vitamin C
• White Fir - soothing, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory,
• Borax - a naturally occurring mineral that dissolves into water to make a basic solution (lowers pH, which helps to preserve). When used with wax, the salt will help emulsify (bind) oils and water. It also has mild antibacterial and antifungal properties. We use less than 5% in our formulas.
• Xantham Gum -  a polysaccharide (a sugar-based polymer) made from when sugars are fermented from Xanthomonas campestri bacteria.  It is very safe and helps to stabilize emulsions, thicken product and create a smooth texture. 
• Vitamin E Oil - fat-soluble vitamin, antioxidants, helps create barrier to keep skin moisture in, helps to preserve product
• Fir Essential Oil - refreshing and invigorating, analgesic, antiseptic
• Lavender Essential Oil - healing, analgesic (pain reliever), antiseptic, rejuvenating and calming
• Frankincense Essential Oil - tones skin, invigorating, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory to skin
• Lemongrass Essential Oil - toning, refreshing and stimulating, antibacterial, analgesic
• Bay Leaf Essential Oil - warming, energizing, analgesic, spicy
• Peppermint Essential Oil - antiseptic, refreshing and stimulating, analgesic
• Pine Needle Essential Oil - antiseptic, warming, analgesic, eases breathing, grounding energy
