First Aid Salve

Intention: All-purpose healing herbal first aid salve

Raindrop Remedies' First-Aid Salve is an all-purpose remedy for daily skin care and injuries, such as cuts, scrapes, rashes, bee stings, bites, dry or irritated skin, and minor burns.  

First-Aid Salve is also included in our First-Aid Pocket Kit: refill it with the pocket size when you need it!

Ingredients: Olive, Jojoba & St. John's Wort Oils, a blend of herbs (Burdock Root, Calendula, Yarrow, Chickweed, Comfrey Root & Leaf, Red Raspberry Leaf, Heal-All, Plantain, and Sage), Cocoa & Shea Butters, Beeswax, Vitamin E, and our essential oil blend (Lavender, Tea Tree, Wormwood, Fir Needle & Helichrysum)

Why We Chose These Ingredients:

• Olive Oil - Vitamins A, D, K & E, moisturizing, anti-oxidants
• Jojoba Oil - liquid wax that is similar to our skin sebum, softens and smooths dry skin, regulates oily skin
• St. John's Wort Oil - helps to heal wounds, antiviral, antiseptic
• Burdock Root - helps to stabilize mast cels to reduce allergic reactions,  soothing for rashes and burns
• Calendula - anti-inflammatory, astringent, anti-microbial, anti-fungal
• Yarrow - anti-microbial, anti-viral, helps to slow bleeding of wounds
• Chickweed - soothing for itchy skin, demulcent
• Comfrey Root and Leaf - a rapid healer, stimulates cell growth 
• Red Raspberry Leaf - antiseptic, astringent,
• Heal-All (aka Self-Heal) - astringent, styptic, healing to wounds
• Beeswax - healing to skin and helps to solidify the salve
• Plantain - herb that helps to draw out toxins, cooling, purifies the skin
• Sage - helps to safely dissolve blood clots
• Cocoa Butter -Solid fat that adds hardness to balm, improves blood flow to skin, antioxidants, phytochemicals (helps protect from UV damage), fatty acids
• Shea Butter - contributes hardness to the salve, fatty acids that help protect the skin barrier
• Vitamin E - fat-soluble vitamin, antioxidants, helps create barrier to keep skin moisture in, helps to preserve product
• Lavender Essential Oil - antimicrobial, analgesic (reduces sensation of pain)
• Tea Tree Essential Oil - cleansing, antimicrobial, antiseptic, anti fungal
• Fir Needle Essential Oil - antimicrobial, muscle relaxant, astringent
• Helichrysum Essential Oil - restorative, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial

Use:  Always clean skin before adding any salve to it: you do not want to seal dirt, debris, and microbes into a wound because it could lead to infection.  After cleaning both skin and your hands, use a figure-tip amount of First Aid Salve on the affected area.  Cover with a bandage if wound is open. Repeat as needed.
