Evergreens and Goat Milk Soap

Intention: Exfoliating and moisturizing Body Soap; available during Fall and Winter season

An evergreen inspired body soap with soothing white fir and white pine infused oils, along nourishing goat milk, and a touch of black walnut shells to sloth off the dead skin. Just what you need for winter season!

These hand-cut cold-process soap bars are approximately 3.5 to 3.75 oz

Ingredients: Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Goat Milk, Sodium Hydroxide (lye), Tallow, White Fir (Concolor) and White Pine Needles, Rice Bran Oil, Castor Oil, Water, Black Walnut Shells, Spirulina, and our Essential Oil blend (Pine, Cedarwood, Rosemary, Wintergreen)

Why We Chose These Ingredients:

• Olive Oil - anti-oxidants, oleic acids and polyphenols (antioxidant), moisturizing & creamy lather
  
• Coconut Oil - cleansing, high in vitamin C, high in lauric acid and antimicrobial
  
• Goat Milk -   moisturizing, healing, alpha-hydroxy acids for exfoliation, vitamins, minerals, healthy fat, anti-inflammatory
• Rice Bran Oil - antioxidants; emollient;  improves skin moisture
• Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) - a caustic/alkaline reagent that, when mixed with fats and water,  will react (saponify) to create soap. Once cured, a properly made bar of soap will have no lye left in it when finished: it has been converted into soap.
• Water - hydrating, neutral medium to dissolve the lye into
• Tallow - traditional fat used in soap making that is rendered from healthy pasture-raised cows from rural WNY; high oleic, palmitic and stearic acids; is very similar to our skin sebum/fat
• White Fir and White Pine - soothing, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and we love the scent so much it inspired many of our soaps!
• Black Walnut Shells - exfoliating, high in phenolic acids, tannins, and flavonoids; anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-fungal, and antibacterial
• Spirulina - natural green color, vitamins & protein, anti-inflammatory, detoxing, improves elasticity 
• Essential Oils - chosen for their refreshing evergreen vibe
