Woodsman’s Soap

Intention: Forest-inspired body soap

This evergreen inspired hand and body soap contains soothing white fir infused oils, black walnut shell for gentle exfoliation and woodsy essential oils like fir, rosemary, patchouli and cedar wood. Mini bars are approximately 2.2 oz

Ingredients: Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Buttermilk, Milk, Sodium Hydroxide (lye), White Fir Needle, Black Walnut Shell, Spirulina, and our Essential Oil blend (Fir, Pine, Rosemary, Patchouli, Cedarwood)

Why We Chose These Ingredients:

• Olive Oil - anti-oxidants, oleic acids and polyphenols (antioxidant), moisturizing & creamy lather
• Coconut Oil - cleansing, high in vitamin C, high in lauric acid and antimicrobial
• Castor Oil -  ability to draw impurities out of skin, provides moisture, antibacterial 
• Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) - a caustic/alkaline reagent that, when mixed with fats and water,  will react (saponify) to create soap. Once cured, a properly made bar of soap will have no lye left in it when finished: it has been converted into soap.
• Buttermilk - protein and fats; lactic acid is ideal for evening out skin tones
• White Fir - love the scent so much it inspired this soap; soothing, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory
  
• Black Walnut Shell -  gentle exfoliation
• Spirulina - natural color, vitamins & protein, anti-inflammatory, detoxing, improves elasticity 
• Fir Essential Oil - grounding, calming and stabilizing effects on mood
• Pine Essential Oil - antiseptic, warming, analgesic, eases breathing, grounding energy
• Rosemary Essential Oil - increases circulation, uplifting, smells lovely
• Patchouli Essential Oil - analgesic, grounding, healing
• Cedarwood Essential Oil - antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, soothing to irritated skin
